The round table on the problems of today’s Ukrainian Classics has united various specialists: philosophers, philologists and translators of Ancient philosophical texts. The disputants expressed a wide range of assessments of past development and current state of Ukrainian studies of Ancient Philosophy – from moderate optimism to sad statement that such studies in Ukraine are, as yet, utterly absent. At the same time, the participants of the round table were unanimous that the most urgent need of current Ukrainian Classics is preparation and bilingual publication of commented translations, preferably within the framework of a unified all-Ukrainian project, with the purpose of gradual creation of Ukrainian “Library of Ancient Philosophy”, similar to Loeb Classical Library.
